
VFW Post 4676 is accepting applications for a full-time Canteen Manager. We are seeking an experienced hospitality professional to oversee daily canteen operations, staff, financial performance, inventory, and regulatory compliance while maintaining a welcoming environment for our members and guests.

Manage daily bar, kitchen, V-Sweep, and social event operations under the oversight of the House Committee. Oversee the POS system, menu pricing, daily cash reconciliation, special events, fundraisers, and entertainment
Recruit and screen canteen employees, coordinate interviews with the House Committee, conduct employee training, schedule shifts, evaluate performance, and enforce workplace and customer service standards.
Manage vendor relationships and ordering within established budgets. Prepare financial summaries, sales data, and expense reports for House Committee review and handle assigned deposits, petty cash, and routine bill payments.
Conduct weekly and monthly physical inventory counts to minimize waste and shrinkage while maintaining strong cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) controls for liquor, beer, food, and supplies.
Ensure compliance with TABC requirements, health department certifications, and food safety standards. Enforce applicable VFW National and Department bylaws, house rules, and the canteen code of conduct.
Maintain a visible presence in the canteen and build positive relationships with veterans, Auxiliary members, and guests while supporting activities that increase Post revenue and member engagement.

Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in bar, restaurant, or private club management, preferably supervising a staff of 5–10 employees.
Current TABC certification and Food Manager certification, or the ability to obtain both immediately upon hire.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, QuickBooks, inventory management software, and modern digital POS systems.
Must have open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support peak business hours and Post operations.
Strong alignment with the VFW mission is required. A veteran background or prior experience working with veteran service organizations is highly preferred but not required.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of 8+ hours and lift, push, or pull inventory weighing up to 50 lbs.
